What to Expect at Your First Pole Class

A typical first pole class includes a warm-up, basic spins and holds, and a cool-down — no experience or fitness level required.
Expect a group of 6–12 students, many of them first-timers. Class starts with a full-body warm-up, then your instructor introduces foundational moves: walking around the pole, basic spins like the fireman, and simple poses. You'll finish with stretching and a cool-down.
You do not need to be strong, flexible, or a dancer to start. Good studios scale everything to your level and never pressure you into moves you're not ready for.
Most people leave their first class sweaty, a little bruised, and completely hooked.
